Cowboys coach Jason Garrett says he does not anticipate cornerback Morris Claiborne donning pads for today’s afternoon workout, which the team hoped would happen. Claiborne, the Cowboys’ first-round pick from LSU, went through light drills in a second consecutive walkthough session and reported more progress in regard to rebounding from a sprained knee suffered last week.
“It felt pretty good coming out of breaks and stuff. It’s better,” said Claiborne, who does not expect to take the field under game conditions until the team’s second pre-season game, Aug. 18 at San Diego. “But I still won’t know (about wearing pads) until I get to that time.”
Garrett has said the team will be careful with Claiborne, who missed much of the off-season because of wrist surgery. Claiborne said he plans to play in pre-season games and trainers seem to have him targeted fro an Aug. 18 debut at San Diego.
