Holmes relishes chance to atone for failed conditioning test, sway coaches

The Remedial Running Group no longer exists. The three players who failed their pre-camp conditioning test _ safety Brodney Pool, running back Felix Jones and receiver Andre Holmes _ took part in drills Friday for the first time during training camp.

Among Friday’s returnees, Holmes _ a second-year free agent _ has the least NFL experience and expressed the most concern about the need to make up for his failed conditioning test by impressing coaches.

“It’s a huge monkey off my back. Now, I get to go out there and play,” Holmes said. “If I didn’t still have a shot to make the team, I wouldn’t still be here.”
