Owner Jones praises progress of Crawford, Carter

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expressed satisfaction today with the training camp progress of two young players: rookie defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford, the team’s third-round pick from Boise State, and linebacker Bruce Carter, who played sparingly as a rookie last season after rehabilitating from a knee injury.

“Crawford’s catching some eyes,” Jones said. “He’ll really help us. And Carter’s been very impressive.”
Carter has been impressive enough to coaches that he worked most of the afternoon practice with the No. 1 defense.
