Cowboys director of player personnel Stephen Jones said the Cowboys could sign all three of the offensive linemen who worked out this morning _ Derrick Dockery, Montrae Holland and Daniel Loper _ but no action had been taken by the start of today’s afternoon workout.
Jones acknowledged the need to add more interior linemen in workouts but said: “We haven’t decided if it’s one, two or three ... We’re not limited.”
The Cowboys’ numbers are low in the offensive line, where four players are out with injuries: Bill Nagy, Kevin Kowalski, Nate Livings and Mackenzy Bernadeau.
“Any time you have four guys who are going to be in your top couple of units (out), that’s a lick,” Jones said. “And all in the interior. The good news is we’ll probably get a couple of these guys back sooner, rather than later, in Livings and Bernadeau.”
Both Livings and Bernadeau are first-year Cowboys who are still learning the offense, which makes an extended absence during camp a greater concern.
