Those end-of-practice sprints the Cowboys are running? Jason Witten says it's for the fourth quarter

The Cowboys finished the first two training camp practices with sprints.

It’s a serious effort at conditioning. When coach Jason Garrett has been unsatisfied with the effort, he calls the group back to re-run a sprint.

Tight end Jason Witten said it’s prep work for fourth quarters.

“We didn’t finish enough games where we had a chance to win,” he said. “We let them slip. This is just one area. These are long practices, a lot of running, but you have to be able to gut it out. That is what the fourth quarter is going to be like. A lot of that is physical, but it’s also mental.

“It’s a great way for us to work together and have a shared commitment.”

I don’t think its ever been an issue. The results weren’t following
You know this team this team understands
We know what the approach  we have to take.
We have a team in the division that has won two out of the last five

We have to able to execute better and win those type of games. That is what we are working for

Tired of hearing yourself say the same things :
Our actions have to speak louder than our words. None of yall are believing it. Why should you be. The approach we are taking is if we are going to be the team we think we can we have to go show it. What a great opp we got coming up sept 5. So that’s the focus of this team. All the things we are talking about, executing better, playing better football is all three phases.

Going into 10th year with tony:
It goes fast and I will be damn if I let this opportunity slip and not come away with a championship. It has been a heck of  a run. But its time we grab it.
That goes for all of us the core group of us. That is what coach garrett has talked about. This group is trying to do it. I think we have the right type of guys.
Again you have to put that work in to give yourselves a chance. That is what every other team is trying to do. There is no other way.
Its great weather but we have to put the work in.

Sprints at end of practice about finishing strong:
You saw yesterday he called us back
We saw it first hand yesterday we didn’t finish enough games where we had chance to win we let them slip
This is just one area. These are long practices, a lot of running  but you have to able to gut it out.
That is what the foruth quarter is going to be like. A lot of that is phyicail but it is also mental
It’s a great way to for us to work together and have shared commitment what he talked about
Hopefull it will pay off us come the fourth quarter

Same oold story
The question was about the window
You cant have the same old story
8-8 is not good enough
I believe in the men we have,  I believe we work the right way
But ultimately we didn’t make the playoffs last year
That is what I was trying to say
That is what our message has been so far
Our actions have to be louder than our words
We have to go earn it
Nobody is going to give us anything
That is the approach we are taking
