Cowboys hopeful linebacker Anthony Spencer can play this week

Cowboys linebacker Anthony Spencer missed practice Thursday with a shoulder injury. Dallas has an extra day this week since they play on Monday night.

Spencer has 29 tackles, second on the team, with two sacks, two tackles for loss and nine quarterback pressures. Victor Butler is Spencer's backup.

"He did not practice yesterday," Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said of Spencer. "We’re hopeful as he progresses during the week that he gets better and he’s able to play. He’s been playing very well for us, but he did not get any work done yesterday."
