Barry Church disappointed in season ending injury but plans to stay up beat

Just when things seemed to finally be coming together for Cowboys safety Barry Church it all fell a part before he could even get started.

That’s the off shoot of the ruptured Achilles he suffered Sunday, ending his season.

Church, who made the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2010, finally earned a starting job in 2012 and was looking forward to proving that he belonged only to see his dream taken away three games into the season.

“It’s disappointing but I have to stay up beat and positive for the team,” Church said. “I will continue to do that.”

Church suffered a quad bruise last week against the Seattle on the same leg that the he ruptured the Achilles. He admits that weakness in the quad may have played a role in the injury.

“It was run play,” Church said. “I think it was a freak accident. I went to help on the run and soon as I planted it popped.”
