Cowboys get Coale on the practice squad, plus Dunbar, Olawale, Leary, Lemon, Benford, Bass, Callaway

The Cowboys survived their gamble with fifth-round pick Danny Coale.

He and seven others were re-signed to the practice squad Saturday and practiced.

Running backs Lance Dunbar and Jamize Olawale, defensive end Ben Bass, receiver Tim Benford, guard Ronald Leary, linebacker Orie Lemon and defensive tackle Robert Callaway are also on the practice squad.

They all cleared waivers to return to the Cowboys. They can earn a maximum salary of $5,700 a week.

Practice squad players can be signed to the Cowboys’ or another team’s active roster at any time.
