Cowboys will continue to watch Witten closely, ask him to communicate how he's doing

The Cowboys will continue to keep an eye on tight end Jason Witten and make sure that he is still OK.

Witten returned last week for action against the Giants after recovering from a lacerated spleen suffered in the first preseason game.

“I think we have to continue to monitor him,” Garrett said. “We have to see how he feels. ... He has to communicate with us. It’s hard for us to tell if he’s doing OK. He just has to communicate with us, and we’ll make the necessary adjustments.”
