Garrett says Cowboys fought until the end despite second-half swoon

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett disagreed with portrayals of his team as demoralized during a second-half meltdown in Seattle, when the Seahawks had 88- and 90-yard touchdown drives during a 27-7 victory.

Seattle outscored Dallas 14-0 in the second half but Garrett said his team fought to the end despite the one-sided statistics and final score.

“Demoralized is your word. You’ve got to keep playing and you’ve got to keep fighting. And battle,” Garrett said. “I thought we did. When the defense is out on the field a lot at the end of the game, that’s not a good thing. That’s hard on a defense … We had 16 offensive plays in the second half (actually 19). That can get to you. We were trying to rotate guys through there and stay strong. I don’t think at any point, we lost our competitiveness or our fight. We just weren’t getting it done the way we needed to.”
