Jason Witten was given only one drop, officially, in Sunday's victory over the Bucs. STATS, Inc., lists Witten with a league-leading five drops for the season. He had four before Sunday. Four other NFL players have four.
Still, Witten had two other passes that he normally catches bounce off his hands. One was a tipped pass he couldn't hold onto after sliding for it. Another from Tony Romo was slightly off target, but Witten stretched and got two hands on it, making it a play he normally makes.
Romo has targeted Witten 19 times, and Witten has made eight catches for 76 yards. STATS, Inc., says one of the incompletions intended for Witten was a poor throw, three were passes defensed and one was tipped at the line. Witten'sfinal incompletion, STATS lists as "other."
Dez Bryant has one drop, and Miles Austin none, according to STATS, Inc.
