Punter joins Ratliff, Sensabaugh and Costa in sitting out practice

Since the Cowboys play Monday night, they held only a walkthrough. They do not have to file an injury report with the league until Thursday, but center Phil Costa (back), nose tackle Jay Ratliff (ankle), defensive end Kenyon Coleman (knee) safety Gerald Sensabaugh (calf) and safety Matt Johnson (hamstring/back) were not on the practice field.

Punter Chris Jones also did not practice. Jones hurt his knee when he was roughed in the second quarter. Dekoda Watson nearly blocked Jones' punt, but instead was called for a 15-yard penalty when he hit the leg of Jones without touching the ball. Jones had only one try after that, with a 29-yard punt that reached the Tampa Bay 18-yard line.

Sensabaugh promised to play this week after injuring his calf in Week 2. Ratliff has been out since the third preseason game against the Rams, Aug. 25, and the Cowboys are hoping his high-ankle sprain is close enough to healed that he can return to practice this week.

"We're certainly hopeful," coach Jason Garrett said. "He's getting better and better, so hopefully as this week progresses we can get him out there practicing and maybe get ready for this ball game."
