Garrett says Cowboys "more optimistic" today about Costa's injury than after Sunday's game

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said the team is “more optimistic … now than we were (Sunday)” about the availability of starting center Phil Costa, who sprained his ankle in the team’s 19-14 victory over Carolina and was taken off the field in a cart. Garrett still called “a significant injury” but left open the possibility that Costa could play Sunday against the New York Giants.

“Everybody was concerned as he was being carted off,” Garrett said. “It didn’t look good. Sure enough, by the end of the night (Sunday) and by today, we are a little more optimistic … We are not saying anything but that.”

To all players: Get on the field and play unless the injury is very serious.
