Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said he talked to Anthony Spencer about celebrating after his sack against the Panthers.
"Among the first thing we said on the tape was, 'Hey, sacks late in the game are the difference-making plays in the game," Garrett said. "Having said, we need to handle the situation afterward. Just get back."
Garrett said Spencer, who played after missing two games with a shoulder injury, told him he just got caught up in the moment.“It’s a great teaching play for not only him, but for the rest of the guys,” Garrett said. “You want that passion, that emotion, all of that stuff -- it's such a big part of football. But having said that, you have to go to the next down.”
Garrett said the Cowboys gave Spencer the ‘Hard Hat Award’ as the outstanding player in the game.
