Although a source told the Star-Telegram on Monday that running back DeMarco Murray will be sidelined for the second straight week for with a sprained foot, coach Jason Garrett has been coy about ruling him for Sunday’s game against the Giants.
Garrett acknowledged that Murray was not going to practice on Wednesday but said he was progressing in his rehab.
“Hopefully he’s just progressing,” Garrett said. “He’s moving around better. He’s in the meetings and we’ll just see where he is. I don’t anticipate him practicing today. We’ll just see where he is moving forward.”
But in answering a question about Murray walking on crutches to avoid putting weight on the foot, Garrett all but confirmed his absence for Sunday’s game against the Giants.
“Oh, I think we’re just being very careful about any weight that we’re putting on him,” Garrett said. “The more time we give him the better.”
Time like missing Sunday’s game against the Giants and possibly being ready the following week against the Falcons if not the Eagles a week later.
