Cowboys start practice week without Ratliff

The Cowboys started their practice week without Jay Ratliff, who suffered a sprained ankle at the end of the first half against Atlanta last week but returned to play after halftime.

Neither Ratliff nor center Phil Costa were on the field during the part of Wednesday’s practice open to reporters.

Receivers Dez Bryant and Kevin Ogletree, running back DeMarco Murray, linebacker DeMarcus Ware and safety Matt Johnson went to work on the side.

Linebacker Dan Connor did not work during the special teams drills but appeared ready for practice.
