NFL Picks of the Week: Time to Finish Strong
Sunday, Nov. 25
Minnesota at Chicago
The Vikings are a different team away from home. And the Bears should have Jay Cutler back at quarterback. That will make all the difference for them. Bears, 24-17
Oakland at Cincinnati
Carson Palmer’s homecoming will end up being a nightmare. The Raiders have struggled and season and the Bengals are surging. Bengals, 28-10
Buffalo at Indianapolis
Andrew Luck and the Colts should have no hangover from the embarrassing loss to the Patriots because New England has been doing that everybody. The Colts have been very strong at home. Colts, 23-20
Denver at Kansas City
The Peyton Manning comeback player of the year tour has morphed into the Peyton Manning MVP tour. He will pad his stats against the woeful Chiefs. Broncos, 28-17
Seattle at Miami
If Seattle truly wants to be taken seriously as a playoff contender, they need to win on the road. And if they can’t beat Miami on the road, they don’t deserve to make the playoffs. Seahawks, 20-17
Atlanta at Tampa Bay
The Falcons still have the best record in the NFC and are the cream of the conference. But no one has improved as much since the start of the season than the Buccaneers. Buccaneers, 24-21
Tennessee at Jacksonville
Jacksonville is 1-9. And while the Titans aren’t playoff worthy, running back Chris Johnson is running wild again and Jake Locker is back at quarterback. Titans, 24-13
Baltimore at San Diego
The Chargers are trending down, losers of five of the last six and six of the last eight after winning their first two games of the season. It won’t get better against the Ravens who will have Ed Reed in the lineup. Ravens, 27-24
St. Louis at Arizona
The Cardinals have lost is straight after opening the season 4-0. They are playing with their third string quarterback and looking to get off the snide. Good thing they get the sacrificial Rams. Cardinals, 17-15
San Francisco at New Orleans
The Saints have been surging, winning five of the last six and there in a row. They will make a statement to let the league know they are back for real with a win against the 49ers. Saints, 28-24
Green Bay at the N.Y. Giants
The Giants have struggled for much of the last month. They are coming off a bye and looking to right themselves for a December run. Aaron Rodgers will make his share of plays against the Giants’ suspect secondary. But New York will survive. Giants, 31-28
Monday, Nov. 26
Carolina at Philadelphia
The Eagles are in full free fall. Andy Reid is not coming back next year and they are playing again without Michael Vick. It will get even uglier with a loss on national television. Panthers, 27-,17
Turkey Day NFL PIcks
Texans at Lions
The Lions are struggling but they are in must win mode at home and the Texans are playing without their best cornerback. Calvin Johnson will have a big game. Lions, 28-24
Redskins at Cowboys
RGIII is playing his first game as a pro in Texas. He will have big day. But he doesn't play defense and the Redskins secondary is horrible. The Cowboys will ride Dez Bryant to victory. Cowboys, 24-17
Patriots at Jets
The Jets always play the Patriots tough. So don't look for a blow out. But the mismatch at the quarterback position will leave the Jets wanting again. Patriots 24-20
Last week: 9-4
Season: 94-66
