Cowboys owner Jerry Jones' comments to Bob Costas before the Sunday
night against the Falcons caused a little stir because he said he would
have fired the general manager by now if, you know, he wasn't the
general manager as well as the owner.
Jones was asked again about the comments on his radio show Tuesday morning and said he was just answering a question hypothetically because the reality is that its just not going to happen. He said he has had success being the general manager as well as owner and will so again in the future.
"No way would I be involved and not be the final decision makers on the player," Jones said. "It's just not going to happen. We have had success doing it this way. We will have success in the future doing it this way."
In other words, "Did you like those three Super Bowl titles of the 1990s?

JERRY?! WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF SUCCESS????? 1 playoff game in the past 16 years sure as he!! isn't success. Your scotch soaked brain must be fried for you to even think you have had any success as GM.

This is the last thing I wanted to read. My one hope for this franchise was that Jerry Jones would come to his senses and turn the football operations over to a football guy. Well, I suppose we all knew this was the case, but you always hope that something changes. By the way he worded this, I guess there will be no changes. Sad.
