Running back DeMarco Murray got back on the practice field Wednesday, his first action since he hurt his foot against Baltimore six weeks ago.
The Cowboys listed him as limited on the practice report.
“We anticipate him taking another step today,” coach Jason Garrett said before practice. “We’ll evaluate what that step is. He’ll do more football today than he’s done to this point. We’ll see how he responds to that work.”
Receiver Miles Austin (hip), center Ryan Cook (knee), defensive end Sean Lissemore (ankle), tackle Tyron Smith (ankle) and defensive end Ben Bass (ankle) also were listed as limited in practice. Bass suffered his injury during practice and left to have an X-ray.
Defensive end Jason Hatcher (concussion) and receiver Kevin Ogletree (concussion) both returned to practice and were listed as full participants. Safety Danny McCray (hip) and fullback Lawrence Vickers (knee) also were listed as full participants.
Center Phil Costa (ankle), running back Felix Jones (knee), nose tackle Jay Ratliff (groin) and cornerback Orlando Scandrick (hand) did not practice.
Cook, who has missed the past two games, was optimistic about playing Sunday.
“Barring any setbacks moving forward, I should be good to go for Sunday’s game,” he said.
