“He’s done a good job. And that’s a lot coming from a Baylor Bear,” said Griffin, who declined to share which way he was leaning with his Heisman ballot. “Right now, it’s up in the air. It’s been a difficult year for the Heisman, just who to vote for, so it’ll come down to the last couple of weeks.”
Griffin, whose Redskins play Thursday in Arlington against the Dallas Cowboys, spoke today via teleconference with D-FW reporters.
In terms of this year's Heisman race, Griffin said it would be nice for Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein to “keep it in the Big 12,” but Griffin’s former team damaged Klein’s hopes with Baylor’s 52-24 upset last weekend. He also made it clear that he’s considering Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o as a viable option.
“You never know what’s going to happen,” Griffin said. “Klein might still end up winning it. You don’t know. Manti Te’o might. It’s up in the air.”
