Rookie running back Lance Dunbar had a busy day for the Cowboys, but it was also a learning day.
He made mistakes that had quarterback Tony Romo teaching on the run.
“He had a few plays I had to get on him a little bit today, which is a couple of the smaller mistakes I was saying,” Romo said. “But that’s part of learning and getting better as a young guy. A little baptism by fire, I guess you could say. I told him afterward, we’ll correct these and get them right, but we’ve got to lock in and do that.
“Because the kid’s got some ability. I think he showed that a little bit today.”
Dunbar ran five times for 10 yards and caught his first two passes of the season, on three targets, for six yards. For the season, he’s run 20 times for 67 yards.
