“At some point, sure,” Goodell said Sunday night before the Falcons-Cowboys game when asked if he sees Arlington getting another Super Bowl. “They have a great stadium and a great market. I think they will get another Super Bowl.”
North Texas won’t host its second Super Bowl until at least 2018. The league’s Super Bowl Advisory Committee recently recommended South Florida and the San Francisco Bay Area as potential hosts for Super Bowl L in 2016 with the loser to compete with Houston for the 2017 game.
It seems unlikely the Lone Star State would get back-to-back Super Bowls, meaning the wait could be longer than 2018.
