The long-dreaded stretch of four road games in five weeks is over for the Cowboys.
They came out of it with two wins, about the bare minimum they could afford after their 2-2 start. Now they get five of six at home, including three in a row starting Sunday against Cleveland and going through Thanksgiving at Washington and finishing with the Eagles on Dec. 2.
“Coming into this game, we knew we had to win,” linebacker DeMarcus Ware said. “No choice. No ifs, ands, buts about it. So having this win sort of motivates us to go play the next game we’ve got. You know, we’ve got three home games coming up. Some of those games are going to be a short week. We’ve got to tally it up, and we’ve got to keep playing well.”
After the three-game homestand, the Cowboys visit Cincinnati then come home for games against the Steelers and Saints. They close at Washington on Dec. 30.
Cornerback Brandon Carr said there’s no time to wait around for a win streak now.
“Before you know it, there’ll be one game left and Christmas won’t be so happy,” he said. “I think it’s time for us to turn that corner, and it’s time for us to go out there and produce and get some victories. Hopefully this is a start.”
