Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones issued a statement this afternoon saying team officials were "deeply saddened" by the Saturday morning car wreck that resulted in the death of Jerry Brown, a member of the team's practice squad. Cowboys' defensive tackle Josh Brent was the driver in the incident and currently is in the Irving jail. Brent was arrested at 4:30 a.m. on charges of intoxication manslaughter.

"We are deeply saddened by the news of this accident and the passing of Jerry Brown. At this time, our hearts and prayers and deepest sympathies are with the members of Jerry’s family and all of those who knew him and loved him."
