With the win, Dallas began the December stretch of its schedule with a victory for only the second time in the last five years. The Cowboys are a combined 24-39 in December games in the last 15 seasons.
A year ago, the Cowboys' December swoon cost the team a playoff berth. Dallas entered December with a 7-4 record last season but finished 1-4 in games played after Dec. 1, posting an 8-8 finish and missing the playoffs.
In 2008, the team also was in good shape for a playoff berth before posting a 1-3 mark in December to miss the playoffs with a 9-7 record.
