Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he heard the wrong H-word.
Nobody’s taking anything from Dez Bryant’s hip. They’re taking it from his hand.
“I thought they said hip, and they said from hand,” Jones said in a good-natured confession Wednesday morning on his radio show on KRLD 105.3 FM “The Fan.”
Jones joked about speaking too soon after the Pittsburgh game, when he told reporters Bryant would likely have to have bone taken from his hip to graft into his broken left index finger. Asked about it by reporters, Bryant said he knew nothing about it, that Jones must be joking, and that nobody was getting close to his hip.
“First of all, Dr. Jones, with the many different degrees I have in medicine, certainly was venturing,” Jones said, laughing. “I’m way ahead of them out there, and I’m not worried about him playing, I’m worried about getting it fixed a little bit, and I’m tongue-in-cheek and winking this morning. But the bottom line is when the doctors and the trainers did say, ‘H,’ I thought they said hip and they said from hand.”
