The Cowboys are still recovering from the trauma of the last week involving the death of linebacker Jerry Brown and the status of nose tackle Josh Brent, who is facing intoxication manslaughter charges.
But the mission on the field remains the same, starting Sunday against the Steelers. The Cowboys have to sweep their final three games to have a legitimate shot at making the playoffs.
“We have to win them all,” tight end Jason Witten said. “We have to win them all. It’s that easy. You don’t look any further than that. One game at a time. We’ve been saying that here for two weeks, take it one game at a time. I think circumstances have kind of made you do that but even before I think Jason that was his message. This league is too tough to try to play out, you know, what did New York do today. And I’m sure they’re not worried about us either. That’s our mindset and it has to be that way.”
