Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is flying the family of the late Jerry Brown to Dallas today for the private memorial service for the former practice squad linebacker.
Brown was killed early Saturday morning in a single-car wreck. The man responsible for his death, nose tackle Josh Brent, who was arrested on intoxication manslaughter charges and is now out on bail, will also be at memorial service at the request of Brown’s mother.
“Josh will meet them at the airport,” Jones said on his radio show on KRLD-FM Tuesday morning. “She wanted Josh Brent to ride with them to the memorial service and sit with them during the service. They were best friends and teammates in college. Jerry was living with Josh…because of Josh’s generosity. They were on the way to the house when the accident happened. She wanted to be right with Josh. She wanted to express in every way she could how much they loved him and thought of him. She wanted him included with the family.”

Jerry Brown's mom appears to be a very special and kind person. God Bless her.
