Defensive tackle Josh Brent had a problem with driving under the incluence long before Saturday morning's tragic fatality involving teammate Jerry Brown.
Brent was arrested after his sophomore season at Illinois for driving under the influence and suspended from the team indefinitely by then coach Ron Zook in February of 2009. He returned the team for junior season.
The Cowboys drafted him in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Supplemental Draft.

This is such a terrible story. God Bless this kid's family and friends. And lets face it, he was a kid, 25 yrs old. RIP Jerry Brown.
I am not going to be a hypocrite and call out Josh Brent. Others can, I cannot. I suffered through alcohol abuse for years but now havent had a drink in 15+ years. Back in my drinking days, this could've very easily been me. Truth be told, it should've been me. I was LUCKY. Josh Brent was not.
Just an awful story and there isnt much more I can say. God Bless all involved and their families and friends.
