Stephen Jones stopped to talk about the Cowboys’ playoff push, but he said it’s not playoffs or bust for the roster. He said he likes the core of the team and named some of the key parts.
“You’re talking about DeMarcus Ware, Sean Lee and Bruce Carter,” he said. “A lot of good young players who are hurt are going to be back, like Barry Church. We have got some good young players coming up. You got Hatcher and a guy like Tyrone Crawford and guys like that.
“And then of course, offensively, with Murray, Romo and Miles and Dez and Witten. We’ve got a good young left tackle in Tyron Smith. I like that core. There is a lot to build around there.”
Jones said the return of Murray to the Cowboys offense provides hope.
“We would like to think we can win them and get in the palyoffs,” he said. “Every year is critical. Regardless of what happens we are going to be back hard at it again.”
