Romo will miss OTAs after cyst removed from back, team web site reports

The Cowboys are going to start OTA practices without quarterback Tony Romo.

He had a cyst removed from his back last month, and the Cowboys don’t plan to let him practice over the next three weeks, according to DallasCowboys.com.

The Cowboys practice on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each of the next three weeks before a mandatory minicamp the following week. Romo is expected to be back for that.

Romo has not been throwing over the last month, the team web site said. He did not play in the Cowboys’ golf tournament last week in Grapevine.

Romo is expected to meet with reporters Tuesday at Valley Ranch. He hasn’t spoken publically since signing a $108 million contract extension in March.

The only tyhing I can ask is...Romo..why now to have the surgery right at the start of OTA's? Is this a move th show your displeasure of Jerry taking away your golf excursions and saying he wants you at Valley Ranch from sunup to sundown? Romo could have had that surgery two or three months ago.
