Cowboys add two defensive linemen to help with camp practices while Ratliff, Spencer recover

The Cowboys added a pair of defensive linemen to help them get through while they are short-handed because of injuries to Anthony Spencer, Jay Ratliff, Tyrone Crawford and Ike Igbinosun.

Defensive tackle Landon Cohen and defensive end George Selvie were signed, and receiver Lavasier Tuinei was released.

Cohen has four years in the league, with Detroit, Jacksonville and New England. He played in 14 games and started four for the Lions in 2009.

Selvie has three years in the NFL with three teams, St. Louis, Carolina and Jacksonville. He has not started any games.

Tuinei, a receiver out of Oregon, did not pass the conditioning test at the start of training camp.

Why bring in these two bums to be camp fodder when they could have used the roster spots to bring in a couple of the vets who were cut at a decent price? Anderson and Abraham come to mind. Crawford is out for the year and the others on the roster are 3 string backups at best. Why wait? Better pick one or both of them up now before injuries cause someone else to beat us to them.
