Return of Ryan Cook, who has passed his physical, shores up Cowboys at center

The Cowboys said center Ryan Cook has passed his physical and will be ready to practice Tuesday.

Cook had failed the conditioning test on Sunday and was one of four offensive linemen missing the first two practices for the Cowboys at training camp. Cook, acquired last year in the preseason for a seventh-round pick, was the starter for most of last year. This spring, he has been running third-team.

David Arkin, playing with the first team at guard, took snaps at center before practice on Monday.

The Cowboys are still down their two starting guards, Nate Livings and Mackenzy Bernadeau, and backup guard Ron Leary.
