Morris Claiborne is "good" after jamming his left knee and leaving practice

Morris Claiborne got a scare during practice Tuesday. It scared the Cowboys even more.

The cornerback walked off with a trainer after "jamming up" his left knee, but he didn't even require an X-ray. Jerry Jones said he was relieved when head athletic trainer Jim Maurer gave him a thumbs-up after examining.

"You know how you get that first initial pain when you do something, it always scares you a little bit," Claiborne said. "...Everything is good."

Claiborne said he will be "good to go" for today's practice and expects to play Friday against Oakland after sitting out Sunday's preseason opener along with most of the team's other starters.

"I’m really looking forward to it," Claiborne said. "I was looking forward to last week. This week, we get a chance for sure that I know of to get out there and run around a little bit, so I’m really looking forward to that."

The Cowboys began Tuesday's practice without cornerback Brandon Carr, who left camp to be with his fiancee for the birth of their child.
