Canton, Ohio _ Larry Allen became the fourth Cowboys player drafted since owner Jerry Jones bought to the team in 1989 to be inducted into the Pro Football of Fame, joining Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin. Add in Deion Sanders and five players who have played during Jones reign as owner are members of the Hall Fame.
Considering Jones impact on the NFL in terms of marketing, promotions and television contracts to go along with the three Super Bowl titles won by the Cowboys with him as owner/general manager, the question is whether he will one day end up in the Hall of Fame along side his players.
Vice-president Stephen Jones said it's something he has certainly envisioned for his dad.
"Oh do I," Stephen Jones said. "He should be, from my opinon, on what he has done for the game. Obviously I'm biased being his son
But what he has done for the NFL and the passion he has for the game, I just hope he gets that chance and I'm sure he will but you never take something like that for granted. Obviously there is not a bigger fan than myself for my poppa to get that opportunity."
