Eli says he's been watching USC film to get ready for Kiffin's defense, but Cowboys needn't worry about one thing

Eli Manning said he has spent “a pretty decent amount of time” watching film of past Monte Kiffin defenses at Tampa Bay in the NFL and at USC in college.

Manning is trying to get ready for the defense he will face Sunday night when the Giants and Cowboys meet at AT&T Stadium.

The DFW reporters on a conference call with Manning, knowing Kiffin’s defense gave up more than 700 yards to Oregon last year, couldn’t resist a playful jab: “So, does that USC film give you a lot of confidence?”

Manning hesitated.

“They did some good things,” he said, carefully, as the reporters shared a chuckle. Then he played along. “I won’t be running the read option, so they won’t have to worry about that aspect of it.”
