The Cowboys worked out six players, including three cornerbacks, Tuesday morning.
The cornerbacks were Ryan Steed, Junior Mertile and Peyton Thompson in addition to defensive tackle David Carter and wide receivers Jamar Newson and Dwight Jones.
Per a source, no decision has been made if the Cowboys will sign anyone to the roster. They would need to make a roster move to add a player.
But the workouts are evidence that the Cowboys are concerned about the thin numbers at cornerback. They kept only four on the active roster. Those numbers are excerbated by a shoulder injury to cornerback Morris Claiborne that is limiting his snaps and effectness.
Claiborne played just 37 snaps against the Chiefs, playing largely on passing downs and in the nickel. Orlando Scandrick started in his place left cornerback and played 67 snaps.
The Cowboys could sign another cornerback before Sunday's game against the Rams.
