Vice-president Stephen Jones said there is no doubt in his mind that the Cowboys defense will bounce back from last week’s shellacking by the San Diego Chargers and be up to the task of facing Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos this week.
He said Chargers game was a wake up call for the defense and the staff took their woeful play personally. The Cowboys allowed 506 total yards, including 401 passing to the Chargers just in time to face Manning who has 16 touchdowns and no interceptions through the first four games.
“Absolutely, there is no doubt in my mind,” Jones said. “There is no doubt in my mind that coach (Monte) Kiffin and the staff will be prepared. I think they took it personally Everybody looked in the mirror and said if we want to get where we want to get we have to play better defense than that. I have a lot of confidence that our guys are going to get this done. It was a wake up call for our defense."
