Garrett wishes Fox, Kubiak well; says coaches have to find balance to offset the grind

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett offered good well wished for Broncos coach John Fox and Texans coach Gary Kubiak as they recover from their respective health issues.

Fox underwent heart surgery Monday and will be sidelined indefinitely. Kubiak collapsed at halftime of his game Sunday against the Colts and was treated for stroke-like symptoms. He remained under medical on Monday.

Garrett said understands the grind that coaches put themselves through and does his best to try to find balance.

"The first thing that I like to say is we wish those guys well," Garrett said. "I know both those guys, and they’re great people. They’re great coaches and they’re people who represent themselves, their families and the NFL really, really well. So we wish Fox-y and Gary nothing but the best in getting back from these health situations they’re involved in. Coaches work hard. That’s well-documented. We work long hours and there’s a lot of commitment that goes into the jobs that we have, but nobody would trade these jobs for anything. We’re fortunate to do what we do, and certainly you have to try to have balance in your life and try to maintain a healthy lifestyle given some of the circumstances that we find ourselves in, but that’s what we signed up for, and again, we wish Gary and Fox nothing but the best in coming back. They’ll be back as good as new in no time.”
