Webb says he got benched after Saints touchdown, and 'I don't blame them'

Rookie cornerback B.W. Webb said he got benched after missing a tackle that could have prevented Darren Sproles’ 3-yard touchdown run with 1:32 left in the first half that put the Saints ahead 21-10.

“I don’t blame them,” he said.

Asked if he simply took a bad angle or got a late look at the play, Webb shook his head. He hesitated and said, “I don’t know. I just missed a tackle.”

It was a critical play. It was third-and-goal from the 3, and a stop would have forced a field goal, leaving the Cowboys within one touchdown as the half was ending.

Webb got credited with three tackles.

“It was very tough,” he said. “We played against a good team.”
