Dez Bryant's back tightened up on him during Wednesday's practice. He returned to practice for the early portion open to the media, catching passes against air. But he then retreated to the back end of the field to rehab with trainers.
"Dez started practicing [Wednesday], and was working through the early part of practice and his back was starting to bother him so we made him more limited," Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said before practice started.
Bryant has had back issues on and off in his career, including the Week 17 elimination game against the Redskins last year when he left in a wheelchair.
Ernie Sims (groin) and Sean Lee (neck) joined Tony Romo (back) in missing practice.
