The Cowboys announced Wednesday they signed four players to their futures list:
Guard Chris DeGeare
Defensive end Tristan Okpalaugo
Linebacker Quinton Spears
Linebacker Jabara Williams
DeGeare was a fifth-round pick in 2010 by Minnesota out of Wake Forest. He played in eight games, with five starts, for the Vikings as a rookie and spent the next year on the practice squad. He spent part of 2012 with the Tennessee Titans practice squad. The Giants cut him at the end of training camp last year.
Okpalaugo signed with Miami as an undrafted free agent last year out of Fresno State. He joined the Minnesota practice squad in September but was released a week later.
Spears signed with Miami in 2011 and was claimed by Cleveland off waivers at the start of the season and played in 13 games. He was released by the Browns at the end of camp in 2012 and did not play that season. He was signed by the Colts on Jan. 1 last year and released in September and did not play last season.
Williams was a seventh-round pick in 2011 by the St. Louis Rams out of Stephen F. Austin. He was released in October that year after playing in two games. He was claimed by Chicago and played in five games. The Bears released in him at the end of camp in 2012, and he joined the Rams practice squad. The Rams released him at the end of camp last year.
The players join six others on the Cowboys’ futures list: wide receivers Tim Benford and Lance Lewis, defensive end Caesar Rayford, linebacker Jonathan Stewawrt, tackle John Wetzel and guard Ray Dominguez.
