DeMarco Murray fined $21,000 for illegal hit

The NFL has fined DeMarco Murray $21,000 for leading with the crown of his helmet. The hit occurred in the first quarter of last Sunday's game.

Murray de-cleated Eagles defensive lineman Damion Square on a 10-yard pass from Tony Romo on the Cowboys' 10th play from scrimmage. Murray was not penalized on the play.

The league approved a rule in March that bans players from lowering the crown of their helmets and initiating contact.
