Jared Allen comes to town this week, too, to visit with Cowboys

Defensive end Jared Allen will visit the Cowboys this week, joining Henry Melton and Brandon Weeden to Valley Ranch, according to a source.

Allen, who turns 32 next month, has 128.5 career sacks, ranking him 12th in NFL history. He has seven consecutive double-digit sack seasons, including 11.5 last season in Minnesota. He spent four seasons with the Chiefs and six with the Vikings.

Allen met with the Seahawks on Sunday.

The Cowboys seek a replacement for defensive end DeMarcus Ware, who was released last week and signed with the Denver Broncos. The Broncos were interested in Allen and close to signing him until Ware was released.
