Jones said Cowboys targeted four players with 16th pick: Barr, Donald, Shazier and Martin

According to owner Jerry Jones, the Cowboys went into the draft targeting four players with the 16th overall pick.

UCLA defensive end Anthony Barr, Pittsburgh defensive tackle Aaron Donald, Ohio State linebacker Ryan Shazier and Notre Dame tackle Zach Martin.

Bart, Donald and Shazier were gone when it came time to be pick but Jones said the Cowboys were just as happy to get Martin, who he said was rated as high as any of them on the their draft board. x

"Martin was a guy we liked," coach Jason Garrett said. "His track record speaks for itself. He was a four-year starter at Notre Dame. Some one made a reference that he is one ao safest pick in the draft. He not just a safe player. We see him as damn good football player."
