A few of us huddled around Jon Kitna after this morning's practice session. Here's some of what he had to say:
On how much he's embracing the backup role: "One-hundred percent. You go out and compete, you do everything with excellence. But at the end of the day you know you’re the backup. But that just means you have to be ready whenever. so you have to prepare yourself like Tony (Romo) does."
On how much Romo criticism he's heard, and if it's fair: "A lot of that I don’t hear. But some of the things like going out of town for a bye weekend and all that, that’s what the majority of guys do in this league. It’s only a problem if you don’t win the next week. Then people want to point to it as a problem. But when we have our off time that’s what we like to do because the game is so consuming. But that’s the way it is now. everything is so media-driven and there are no secrets now. Some things are used as a positive, some things as a negative. It all depends on whether you’re winning or losing."
On Roy Williams' potential impact: "
