Starting wide receiver Terry Glenn will have arthroscopic surgery on his right knee in Dallas this afternoon. Glenn flew to Dallas Tuesday and was scheduled to have the surgery Tuesday night, but the physician couldn't fly into Dallas because of inclement weather.
The surgery is planned for this afternoon. Glenn is expected to be sidelined seven to 10 days. He probably won't play in the preseason opener next week against Indianapolis at Texas Stadium.
Receiver Terrell Owens missed his second consecutive practice today. Owens missed Tuesday's practice because of soreness in his hamstring. Coach Wade Phillips described Tuesday's absence as a day off to rest the veteran receiver.
The Cowboys have two practices today. The second practice begins at 3:30 p.m.
Owens missed much of last season's training camp with a sore hamstring. He missed the first three preseason games before taking the field for the final preseason game against Minnesota.
New Cowboys coach Wade Phillips makes you shake your head when youstopthink about the ways things were with Bill Parcells.
Saturday night at the American Airlines Center, was one of those moments.Phillips sat on the front row at midfield of the Dallas Desperados-Austin Wranglers arena league game. Phillips, wearing a black blazer, blue pants and black tennis shoes, signed autographs andevendanced to the Y-M-C-Asongduringa timeout. It was a priceless snapshot. This is the Cowboys head coach.
Can you ever imagine Parcells making the ``M’’ sign with his arms during a Desperados game. Not a chance. But, hey, that’s Wade. After the game he signed football after football and chatted with fans on the field.
