Yeah, this certainly won't stack up as the Stars' best 60-minute effort, considering how that 2-goal lead in the third period went away. Still, it was a fun one to watch. It would have been more fun if it wasn't so close to deadline!
Anyway, Modano said he was wanting to get that equalizer in the shootout especially considering that missed opportunity in the overtime. Nice stop by Smitty on Kariya's shootout attempt, too (yeah, I know, the guy still had a hat trick. He's pretty good, eh?)
Jokinen has some sort of a knee issue. He was limping around the locker room afterward, saying he was OK. Tippett said he'll be re-evaluated today. He wasn't sure if that would include an MRI.
So the Stars will take it, take a deep breath and move on. At least now when they have off nights or periods, they're still pulling them out. We remember how those type of games were ending early in the season, don't we?
