Stars goalie Marty Turco had a near shutout (the Ducks only goal came :08 remaining in the game), surrendering only one goal on 28 shots. Here's what he had to say after the win on Thursday:
On Stu Barnes: Stu is such a great hockey player. He's done it all over his career. He plays the game with such intelligence. He makes hockey plays and makes it real tough on opponents. Whenever they have the puck, just to see him jump it in, it's no surprise to us. It's the little things he does for this club and tonight, it was the big things.
On Turco's play: Tonight it felt really good. I had an opportunity to see all the shots that came through my way. There was some anxious scrambling moments, particularly in the second period. It's a good sign, to see everyone battle as hard as they did. I can't tell you how many times I didn't see it and we got the blocks. It's just as important as anything else out there. It was just a great game from everyone.
On the hit from Teemu Selanne: I was seeing the puck well, I saw it right off my stick and right up into the mesh and he got a pretty good beat on me. I had a pretty good feeling that once that happened that it wasn't an accident. You gotta appreciate his moxie to help these guys out to win. Their backs are against the wall and he's a competitor. Kind of doesn't matter now, though.
On going up 3-1: We need to get one more win. We know what we have to do in black and white. To get it, we're going to need a lot more of the same we've had.
