In addition to the signing of Toby Petersen, the Stars have also signed defenseman Dan Jancevski to a two-year, two-way contract. Jancevski, who was acquired from Tampa Bay for Junior Lessard, played in only two games this season. With Jancevski in the fold, the Stars have seven defensemen under contract and it could be eight if Mattias Norstrom returns. Interesting to see how this might play out. Even if Jancevski plays in the minors next season, that still means a quality defenseman will have to sit (either Zubov, Boucher, Robidas, Daley, Niskanen, Grossman or Fistric). Considering the injuries the Stars have suffered on the blue line, the more the better. Or the depth may lead to a trade down the line.
